Mr. Arif’s residence in Hemayetpur, Savar, features a two-story home design with clear functional separation, with social and dining spaces on the ground floor and dedicated study rooms on both upper levels. The layout emphasizes an academic or professional workspace with multiple study areas across floors, suggesting a family that values education and requires substantial home office functionality.

Design Philosophy

1st Floor Analysis
Living Room: We designed the ground-floor living room as the residence’s primary social space, where family relaxation and guest reception take place. The layout creates comfortable environments for daily family activities and entertaining visitors through practical furniture arrangements that support various functions from television viewing to conversation. The positioning on the entry level ensures convenient guest access while establishing the home’s welcoming character.

Dining & Living Room: The combined areas form an integrated social zone for family interaction and entertaining, with open-plan connectivity. Fluid spatial relationships enable seamless transitions between meals and social activities, while distinct zones are maintained through thoughtful furniture placement.

Dining Room: The dining space supports family meals and guest entertaining in an environment that encourages togetherness and convenient connection to the kitchen.

Bedroom-01: The ground-floor bedroom provides convenient sleeping accommodation that may serve elderly family members requiring single-level living or guests seeking easy accessibility. We designed functional spaces that accommodate sleeping and personal storage while maintaining privacy from the main social areas.

Bedroom-01 Toilet: The ground-floor en-suite bathroom provides private hygiene facilities through efficient layout planning that serves the bedroom’s occupants while potentially offering convenient powder room access for the social floor.

Kitchen: We designed the kitchen as a comprehensive culinary workspace that supports family meal preparation through extensive counter space and storage solutions. The layout incorporates efficient workflow planning and modern appliances that facilitate cooking, while maintaining an organized and functional environment that serves the family’s nutritional needs.

2nd Floor Analysis
Stairway Common Space: The second-floor landing serves as a transitional circulation space, connecting bedroom areas and study functions while offering potential for casual seating or display opportunities within the vertical circulation sequence.

Study Room: The second-floor study room provides a dedicated workspace for academic activities, professional responsibilities, or home office functions. We designed focused environments that support concentrated work through appropriate desk configurations, adequate lighting for reading and computer tasks, and organized storage for books and materials. The positioning away from ground-floor social activities ensures quiet separation conducive to productive work.

Bedroom 01: The second-floor bedroom accommodates private sleeping quarters within the upper residential level. We created comfortable environments that balance sleeping comfort with personal storage and activity needs while maintaining separation from work areas to support healthy work-life boundaries within the home.

Verandah: The second-floor verandah provides valuable outdoor living space that extends the usable area while offering fresh air and natural light benefits. We designed this semi-outdoor zone to support a range of activities, from morning relaxation to evening contemplation, creating transitional spaces that enhance quality of life and connection to outdoor environments.

Bedroom 01 Toilet: The second-floor ensuite bathroom provides private hygiene facilities through practical layout planning that serves bedroom occupants while maintaining contemporary standards and user comfort.

Study: The study creates an elevated workspace that maximizes natural light and potentially commanding views while providing ultimate separation from household activities. We designed this top-level study as a private retreat for focused work or academic pursuits, offering a quiet sanctuary removed from family interruptions. The dedicated study spaces across multiple floors demonstrate a strong commitment to educational or professional workspace requirements within the family home.
