Mosque Interior & Exterior Design- Mymensingh

The Mymensingh Mosque project required a comprehensive religious architecture design that accommodates religious functions while respecting traditional Islamic architectural principles and community needs. The design focused on creating sacred spaces that facilitate prayer, community gatherings, and spiritual reflection, while incorporating contemporary functionality and accessibility requirements.

Design Philosophy

Layout Plan: We structured the mosque to maximize praying efficiency while adhering to Islamic spatial principles and qibla alignment. The plan defines direct circulation routes suited for daily prayers and large gatherings, ensures proper gender separation, and provides accessibility for all members.

Option 1: The primary design option emphasizes traditional Islamic architectural elements while incorporating contemporary construction techniques and comfort features. We created expansive prayer halls with suitable acoustic properties for recitation and community prayers, while maintaining a visual connection to the mihrab and mimbar. The layout includes supporting facilities such as ablution areas, storage for prayer materials, and administrative spaces that serve the essential functions of the broader community in modern mosque operations. The design incorporates natural lighting strategies that create a spiritual atmosphere while ensuring practical illumination for reading and prayer activities.

Option 2: The alternative design approach provides various spatial configurations while upholding core Islamic architectural principles and maintaining prayer functionality. It addresses community preferences and site-specific considerations, ensuring all essential mosque functions are optimally accommodated. The layout provides flexible circulation and spatial arrangements for various congregation sizes and community uses, while preserving the sacred atmosphere and religious requirements of Islamic worship spaces.
